is a registered Nonprofit in the United States, created to support women’s empowerment in India through meaningful commerce. We source handmade products like embroidered pouches, paper-gift bags, journals, and totes from women artisans working with Samvit Sudha® in rural India. Every item we offer helps provide steady income and purpose to women working to uplift their families and communities.
Though we operate independently, our nonprofit draws inspiration and its name from the impactful work of Samvit Sudha® in India.
More than an initiative, Samvit Sudha® is a movement empowering rural women and transforming livelihoods through a deep commitment to human values.
Samvit Sudha® (India) was founded on 14th June 1999 under the guidance and blessings of His Holiness Shrīmat Sadyojāt Shankarāshram Swāmījī, the 11th Guru in the revered lineage of the over 300-year-old Shrī Chitrāpur Math, India.
Samvit Sudha® was established to pay homage to and fulfill the vision of an extraordinary spiritual Guru, His Holiness Shrīmat Parijñānāshram Swāmījī III, whose ideals and dreams continue to inspire its mission.
Samvit Sudha® is a women’s empowerment initiative which began as a small tailoring and embroidery unit and has grown into a vibrant hub of creativity and support for women in rural India. Through skill development in tailoring, embroidery, paper-making, and upcycled crafts, women in rural areas of India earn income while gaining independence and confidence. Samvit Sudha® is known for its beautiful, eco-conscious products made with care and intention. Beyond stitching and embroidery, Samvit Sudha® is committed to preserving India’s invaluable arts and crafts traditions. It also provides training in the art of making handmade paper, and the skill to craft unique products from it. With great emphasis on quality, it strives to achieve perfection in every stitch and every fold.
Samvit Sudha® is a beacon of hope and empowerment for rural women in parts of India. Once dependent, many of these women are now financially self-reliant and respected within their families, marking a powerful shift in community dynamics.

Samvit Sudha® is not a conventional business, it is a transformative initiative centered around women’s empowerment. They do sell products made by rural artisans, however, they do not measure success by profits or production volumes, but by the well-being, autonomy, and dignity of the women they work with.
At Samvit Sudha®, rural underprivileged women are given a platform to express their creativity, build self-confidence, and gain a sense of purpose, all while maintaining harmony with their domestic responsibilities.
Flexibility is foundational. Each woman is empowered to set her own pace and choose her level of engagement. The environment they foster is pressure-free, respectful, and human-centric, prioritizing values over volume, people over profits.
While their ethos is deeply rooted in empowerment of women, they do not compromise on excellence. Every product crafted under the Samvit Sudha® name reflects uncompromising quality, with meticulous attention to detail in every stitch and fold.

In 2011, Samvit Sudha® (India) became a part of PARIJNAN FOUNDATION®, a Public Charitable Trust under the aegis of Shrī Chitrāpur Mat͟h.
PARIJNAN FOUNDATION® is a nonprofit organization in India that supports education, skill-building, and community development across India. It is a major socio-economic initiative of Shrī Chitrāpur Mat͟h, dedicated to women empowerment, community development, rural welfare, education, and health.
Parijnan Foundation® has done path-breaking work in uplifting families living below the poverty line and transforming the lives of over 5000 individuals in numerous villages surrounding Chitrapur, Shirali, in Karnataka, India.
Parijnan Foundation® has guided and supported the growth of Samvit Sudha® since 2011, helping expand its reach and deepen its impact. This Foundation also supports initiatives like Holding Hands, which offers training and support to mothers of children with special needs .
HOLDING HANDS - started in April 2019, is another initiative of the PARIJNAN FOUNDATION® that offers Vocational Training to the mothers of the specially abled children at SPEVC - Swami Parijñānāshram Educational and Vocational Centre for the Handicapped, in Mumbai, India.
At this Centre, the mothers of severely mentally challenged children spend a few hours waiting each day while their wards attend school. With the objective of empowering these mothers to spend this time productively and gainfully, the unique initiative of HOLDING HANDS was started. It allows them to break free from their routines and experience the joy of creating something on their own. It has instilled a sense of independence, confidence, and creativity in these participants.
These mothers have been trained to make products by upcycling newspapers, magazines, invitation cards, cardboard cartons etc. They are also trained in the art of crochet and macrame. The products made by these mothers of Holding Hands also form a part of our product range, marketed under the SAMVIT SUDHA® brand.

Our mission is to provide a platform in the U.S. for showcasing and selling beautifully handcrafted products, each made with the highest quality materials, love, utmost care and utmost attention to detail.
All proceeds from sales of these products here in the U.S. are directed to Samvit Sudha® – India, helping to fuel the transformational journey of rural women artisans of Samvit Sudha®. This effort is part of the visionary work of the Parijnan Foundation®, which is dedicated to empowering women, nurturing their dreams, and creating lasting social impact.
